Ryan Bernat

ryan Ryan has been playing music since he was 8 years old, and bass since age 16. Growing up in Livermore, CA, he was part of that cities music scene in the late 70’s and early 80’s, and performing semi-pro in and around the Bay Area ever since.

Past groups he has belonged to include Emerald – current 70’s rock; Aftershock – Latin Rock; Possible Motive – 80’s top 40 cover band turned original pop rock; Seven36 – 90’s rock; The Crunge – classic rock; The Banshees – classic rock; Nuthin Fancy – classic rock; Small Change – 60’s and 70’s rock; and Blind Nurse – modern rock.
Ryan has opened up for Elvin Bishop and Pat Travers, and performed at West Fest in SF with Maxx Cabello Jr. Other musicians he has also performed with include James Santiago of Voodoo Labs, Mark Clarin of Bacchus Bros, Mark Banning of Unauthorized Rolling Stones, Andy Sturmer of Jellyfish, Mike Vanderhule of Y&T.

Some early bass influences are Paul McCartney, Dee Murray (of Elton John), Geezer Butler (of Black Sabbath), George “Chocolate” Perry (session bassist with Joe Walsh, CSN, Mickey Thomas, etc).
Some of his favorite bands worth noting are Cake, The Gourds, Alice in Chains.
